55a North Road

55a North Road offers an uncluttered and chic base in Bath for bed & breakfast or 'room only' accommodation. Each room is self contained with its own entrance, small kitchen, TV and en suite shower room. There is WiFi broadband, a garden and plenty of parking.

The ground floor room has over size twin beds, plenty of space and easy access to the private garden and the first floor has a king size double bed, leather sofa and the intimacy and charm of a boutique hotel. Robes, fluffy towels and toiletries are all provided in the pristine shower rooms. The sleek and elegant styling throughout is both practical and luxurious.

A freshly prepared, delicious breakfast is brought to the rooms of guests booked in for B&B, leaving you only to decide whether to eat in bed or at your private breakfast table. We offer juice, yoghurt, a selection of Dorset cereals, porridge, dried fruit compote, ruby grapefruit or fresh fruit salad, pain chocolat, toast and preserves. There is a choice of tea, coffee or hot chocolate and other dishes including English breakfast, local free range eggs (scrambled, poached or soft boiled), smoked salmon or cold meats with locally produced cheese or American style pancakes served with either bacon and maple syrup or warm blueberries and thick natural yoghurt.

We also offer a self catering option at 55a as this is what some of our guests prefer though this is best suited to stays of two to four nights. Our kitchenettes are fully equipped - one guest commented that "we'd really thought it through"! Each has a sink, fridge, kettle, microwave, crockery and cutlery, tea, coffee, biscuits, ice cold water, fresh milk and emergency chocolate but no cooker, hob or toaster. We do not usually daily housekeep the rooms of our 'room only' guests. Do get in touch about longer or Monday to Friday stays.

55a is located in a peaceful spot on the South edge of Bath, a stone’s throw from countryside which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and yet less than one and a half miles from the City centre. There are local buses, shops, restaurants and a deli in Combe Down Village. The National Trust’s Prior Park Landscape Gardens are just round the corner where you can hop on or off one of Bath’s open top bus sightseeing tours.

Check in is usually between 4.30 pm and 8 pm and we normally ask you to check out by 11.30 am.
