Church Cottage is a pretty 18th century stone cottage in the village of Colerne, a conservation area 7 miles east of the Georgian City of Bath. It is set in an idyllic location overlooking the beautiful countryside of the Bybrook Valley and adjacent to St John the Baptist Church.

This quiet cosy cottage is self-catering and self-contained with two double bedrooms and one single bedroom. All bedrooms have views - a birds eye view of the adjacent grade one listed church or picturesque views across the valley and as far away as Salisbury Plain.

The beautiful south facing garden has been designed by a horticulturist. An abundance of new blooms appear from the early spring tulips and bluebells through to the giant micklemas daisies in August and the passionflower in the autumn. There is a large stone paved patio with wooden table, bench and chairs. The garden is surrounded by Cotswold stone walls with breathtaking views across the valley. There are two mature wisterias that bloom in May/June.

Colerne is a picturesque historical village on the edge of the Cotswolds with architecture dating from the 16th century. It is perched beside the Bybrook Valley, an area of conservation due to its outstanding natural beauty. It has two pubs, a local shop, post office and a newsagent all in a short walking distance.

Church Cottage original historical features include a large stone fireplace with wood burning stove, oak beams and feature Georgian fireplace. Modern luxury conveniences include full central heating, Freeview digital TV, CD, DVD and wi-fi internet access. All bed linen and towels are included. Private off-street parking.

Close to Bath and on the edge of the Cotswolds the cottage is a perfect location for visiting Bath and the many picturesque Cotswold stone villages nearby such as Lacock- recently famous for the filming of the BBC series ‘Cranford’, Castle Coombe and Bradford-on-avon. Nearby National Trust properties include Prior Park, Dyrham Park and Great Chalfield Manor.

Bristol is 50 minutes drive with the SS Great Britain, historic harbour side and Clifton Suspension Bridge. National Trust properties at Tyntesfield and Stourhead are within an hour.
