Road Directions

• The Cottage is situated in Bathampton Village.

• From the A36 Bath – Warminster Road:

• There are two entrances to the village from the A 36 Warminster – Bath Road, on the right from Warminster direction, or if coming from Bath, around 1.5 miles from Bath centre, signed to the left. In either case, take the first turning to the village centre. From the Warminster direction, you will come down “Down Lane” and should turn right at the intersection at the end of this road, into Bathampton High Street. From the Bath direction, you will come down Bathampton Lane, carrying straight on until this road levels out and becomes Bathampton High Street.

• You will pass a telephone box on the right, and Wee Grange is on the left very shortly after this, immediately after a cobbled and gravelled driveway ( the driveway to Ye Grange), and opposite the “Dog’s Head” horse trough set into the wall.

• From the M4:

• Access from the M4 is quick and easy: leave the motorway at Junction 18, and take the A46 signed to Bath. As you approach the outskirts of Bath, you will reach a major roundabout. Ignore the signed A4 route into the centre of Bath and instead take the “local” filter to the left, signed to Batheaston. After around half a mile, you will see the “Waggon & Horses” pub on the right. Take the little lane immediately after the pub, on, the right, signed to Bathampton. You will quickly pass over a toll bridge (60p). Keep on this road, as it passes the George pub on the right, St Nicholas Church on the left, then rises over a steep hump back bridge and turns sharply back on itself.

• You are now in Bathampton High Street. Ye Grange is at the end of a terrace of old cottages on the right and the Annexe which forms Wee Grange is at the far end of this, opposite the “Dog’s Head” horse trough set into the wall on the left. If you reach the phone box, you have gone too far!

• Entry into the Cottage:

• Park on the street outside Ye Grange – and enter the cottage by walking on to the driveway to Ye Grange, and passing through a wrought iron gate immediately on your right.

Public Transport Directions

• 10 minute taxi journey from Bath Spa Station, from which there are regular high speed trains to London Paddington (in just under an hour and a half), and to Bristol and the South West.
• A regular bus service runs from a stop moments from the door of the cottage. From here the journey in to the centre of Bath takes around 10 -15 minutes.
• Walk to Bath Abbey in around 35 minutes from the cottage, along the towpath of the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal.
