Rounceval House is a stylish Grade II listed Georgian building thought to originate from the sixteenth century and redeveloped by the Georgians in about 1750 to form the house it is today.

Rounceval House opened in 2003 following an extensive refurbishment which turned the magnificent building into a comfortable country house hotel. The house has a warm, relaxed and cosy atmoshphere.

The ten bedrooms, have been tastefully modernised to a high standard and include colour television, direct dial telephone with fast internet access and tea/coffee making facilities.

The house has a wealth of character with old oak beams, original fireplaces and an oak staircase. There is also a bar and sitting room with cable television and a garden for guests to enjoy. There is carparking on site.

A medieval market town, Chipping Sodbury edges the Southern end of the Cotswold Escarpment. 11 miles North of Bristol and 13 miles from Bath.

The Town offers a wide variety of public houses and fine restuarants, all just a few minutes walk away and it is a convenient base for both the business traveller and for touring.

Places of historic interest, beautiful scenery and excellent shops are all easily accessible.

Road Directions

Leave M4 jct 18 and turn right onto A46 towards Stroud. After approximately 2 miles, turn left at traffic lights to Chipping Sodbury. Continue through Old Sodbury and on reaching large roundabout take turning signposted Chipping Sodbury town centre. Continue through Chipping Sodbury High Street, Rounceval Street is the continuation of the High Street and the hotel is on the left opposite Dandos garage.

Public Transport Directions

Take a bus to Chipping Sodbury or walk. Travel along Station Road towards Chipping Sodbury. On entering the town Rounceval House Hotel can be found on the right, opposite Dandos garage, just before the High Street.
